Roy House

To gain more visibility and accessibility, the Center for Louisiana Studies plans to move into into new quarters:  the J. Arthur Roy House. 

Built at the turn of the 20th century by J. Arthur Roy, a prominent Lafayette landowner, businessman, and an early supporter of the University, the Roy House is the only UL Lafayette property listed on the National Register of Historic Places. An architectural treasure, it is prominently located at the corner of Johnston Street and University Avenue.

The Center reached its goal to restore the Roy House in November of 2020. 

We will continue to raise funds for an endownment for ongoing maintenance to ensure the house does not fall into disrepair in the future.
